Who We Are?

What we believe

Bethel Reformed Church

is a community of Christian Believers who owe their lives to God.

The Bible tells us that before we believed in Christ …
“… you were dead in your transgressions and sins… but,
because of His great love for us God, who is rich in mercy,
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions…”
(Ephesians 2:1,

Our local church leadership

In the Bible, in Titus 1:5, Paul gave the instruction “appoint elders in every town”. We believe that God
governs the church through local elders. The elders are assisted by deacons and the minister. The elders
seek to oversee and shepherd the congregation in accordance with God’s Word. The deacons serve the
needs of mercy within the church and where they are able in the community. The minister’s primary
tasks are to preach the Word and administer the Sacraments.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith"

For this reason we want to worship God regularly,
to build each other up in our Christian faith and walk,
and to make the Good News of Jesus Christ known to the world.

“For we are God’s workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
(Ephesians 2:10
)

Because we want to live Godly lives, we want to live by the Bible.
We believe the whole Bible to be God’s infallible Word
faithfully summarized in the historic Reformed Confessions
of the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession and the Canons of Dort.

Bethel is member of the Federation of United Reformed Churches in North America.
